We like to have our fun, but we at A LUSH IN RIO know that fun can't happen without everyone first being serious, and doing some serious work.

QUALIFYING STATEMENTS

Now, in most cases, serious work can be deferred with serious cash (see: indulgences, Catholic Church, Middle Ages, quaestores, ad vomitum). And if you like what you see here and want to give us money for it, we're not going to say no. We've got a list of things we'd like to pay for:

  • The labor put in by Rhino Plus Facile. It took a long time to build the CMS that makes us go;
  • The site itself: Costs about $150 a year to keep A LUSH IN RIO online;
  • Publicity materials: all the paper stuff we'd like to do away with, but can't just yet. Soon, my precious.

And that's just for starters. But if you want to send money, then contact us with your name, email address, and phone number, and we'll work it out, with our thanks.

WHAT WE'D PREFER

Money is great. And we want it, no question. But as this is a non-profit venture, we'd much rather do things the way most non-profits do them: bring on one talented person, find us a primary benefactor, and then use that money to pay people to expand the fundraising effort.

Some at A LUSH IN RIO are working on an ambitious plan to keep the site in good standing for years to come. While that percolates, we'd like to pursue our other organizational goals. We'd like to hear from you if you:

  • are the proprietor of a drinking or eating/drinking establishment looking for a regular entertainment series;
  • are looking for a reputable place to present your video reel of funny things, to say "Yes, I worked here";
  • are in need of some place to write press releases about so you can get a real job writing press releases.

The point is to get you doing something you're good at if you're not making money off us at the door. With an audience and a catchy web presence, what we lack in money we can provide in legitimacy. Use us and we'll use you; it's part of our mission statement.

So contact us if you'd like to do that sort of thing.
